Phil Hurley began his career with
Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1971, where he held several top management
positions. Then, he moved to Interfirst Bank in 1979, where he served
as Senior Vice President for five years.
Mr. Hurley started his broadcasting career as General Manager for KLTV
in Tyler, Texas from 1983 until 1986. He organized and built KETX
and KLSB NBC stations in Tyler, Texas and Nacogdoches, Texas and later
sold these stations to Max Media in 1997, remaining with the stations
through 2000. After that, he served as Vice President and General
Manager of Communications Corporation of America stations in Tyler-Longview,
Texas, including KETK NBC in Nacogdoches; KFXK Fox in Longview; KLPN
UPN in Longview; and KWTL Warner Brothers in Tyler.
From 2001 through 2002, Mr. Hurley served as President of Max Media
of Montana, a group of four ABC stations and one NBC station in Montana
with headquarters in Missoula, Montana. After that, he served
as Vice President and General Manager of Nexstar Broadcasting’s
NBC affiliate for Beaumont/Port Arthur. In 2004, Mr. Hurley
rejoined the Max Media family as President and General Manager of Max
Media of Texas.
Mr. Hurley joined the LBC management team as COO in 2008 following LBC’s
acquisition of KYTX-TV in Tyler. Mr. Hurley is responsible for
overseeing the operations of all of LBC’s television properties.
